Questions

Everything else you might ask

Is Plumshot free?

Plumshot includes a 3-day full-feature trial. After that, a one-time $9.90 USD license unlocks every feature on one Mac. No subscription and no account required.

When does the trial start?

The 3-day trial starts only after your first screenshot completes successfully. Opening Plumshot, granting permissions, or cancelling a capture does not start the clock.

How many Macs does one license cover?

One license activates one Mac at a time. You can deactivate it in Plumshot Settings and move it to another Mac.

Which Macs are supported?

Plumshot runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later and is a universal build, so it's native on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Does my data leave my Mac?

No. Captures, recordings, and OCR all happen locally on your device. Plumshot has no cloud upload — your screenshots stay yours.

What permissions does it need?

macOS asks for Screen Recording permission so Plumshot can capture your screen, and Microphone permission only if you record video with audio. You grant these in System Settings on first use.

How do updates work?

Plumshot updates itself. It checks for new versions in the background and you can also trigger a check from the menu bar or Settings ▸ About — updates are signed and verified before they install.

Is it notarized by Apple?

Yes. Plumshot is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens without Gatekeeper warnings.
